The wait is finally over! CAPS now hosts the iRelax Audio Download center. You can now practice relaxation exercises by downloading our catalog of iRelax audio recordings! Play it on your computer, download to your iPod (or other audio device), and practice, practice, practice! Below is a list of downloadable iRelax recordings.
A Little Info about Relaxation Exercises
These techniques often can reduce stress symptoms and improve your quality of life. Regular practice of relaxation exercises can have several benefits. It can decrease your risk of chronic health problems and improve your ability to concentrate and function academically. Another benefit is in improved relationships. Individuals who practice relaxation often notice they are les irritable and more able to slow down to solve problems, rather than explode and do something they later regret.
Like any other skill, relaxation skills improve with practice. Be patient with yourself and try practicing once a day for several minutes.
Also, know that some people, although rare, may experience emotional discomfort during some relaxation techniques. If you become upset during an exercise, stop what you are doing and consider talking to your health care provider or contacting CAPS for a consultation.
